GVCASA Coronavirus Service Update

In response to the current Coronavirus situation, we are continuing to support our clients whilst introducing a new way people can access our service.

We acknowledge that this is a time of great uncertainty which can bring up strong feelings and we are here to support clients, and those seeking assistance for impacts of sexual violence.

We have been revising our service delivery approaches to support our clients today and in the foreseeable future whilst aligning with all public health recommendations and requirements.

Please note our revised approaches listed below:

  1. Referral and Intake functions are continuing as usual, over the phone.
  2. Therapeutic Counselling is continuing and is provided by phone, and is able to be provided using telehealth approaches (video call) when capacity is available and need is identified.
  3. Secondary Consultations for other professionals are available by phone.
  4. 24/7 Crisis Care Responses for Recent Victim/Survivors of sexual assault are being offered as a high priority and they remain face to face while continuing to abide by social distancing, hygiene and assessment of contact methods.
  5. Outreach Services have currently suspended, but support is being provided to clients by phone or telehealth.
  6. Group Work is suspended until further notice.
  7. Education and Training is suspended until further notice, delivery options are being reviewed.

The team at Goulburn Valley Centre Against Sexual Assault can be contacted as usual during business hours by phone 1800 112 343 or by email at gvcasa@gvhealth.org.au. After Hours please contact SACL (Sexual Assault Crisis Line) on 1800 806 292.
